IDC Construct has completed the Richers Transport Maryborough Depot — a 50,000-square-metre purpose-built heavy-vehicle facility delivered in late 2025. The depot consolidates Richers Transport’s regional operations into one of the largest privately-owned truck depots in the Wide Bay-Burnett.

Project scope

The Maryborough depot covers 50,000 square metres of operational hardstand, workshop and administrative facilities, purpose-engineered for B-double and road-train operations. The project was delivered turnkey by IDC Construct as head contractor, integrating heavy-civil works, structural steel erection, hardstand pavement, services, and fit-out under a single contract.

Facilities delivered

The site includes a dedicated wash-down bay with bunded water recovery, a heavy-vehicle workshop sized for full B-double access, a spray-painting facility with extraction and filtration to environmental standards, and administrative offices for despatch and management operations. The facility is engineered to support Richers Transport’s full fleet servicing rotation on-site.

Design and engineering partners

IDC Construct led the delivery as head contractor working alongside a specialist regional design team:

  • Architectural design: AMF Building Design
  • Structural engineering: Engineers Queensland
  • Civil engineering: Stantec

Featured in Mack Trucks Australia coverage

The Maryborough depot was selected as the on-site location for a Mack Trucks Australia segment, with BigRigs publishing companion editorial coverage of the project and the Richers Transport fleet operations. The depot’s scale and the calibre of the build attracted national heavy-vehicle media attention to Maryborough.

Why Richers Transport chose IDC

Richers Transport is a Wide Bay-Burnett regional logistics operator with significant fleet investment. The depot brief required a builder with proven capability on industrial-scale facilities, engineering co-ordination across architectural, structural and civil disciplines, and the project management capacity to deliver a complex multi-trade build to a fixed operational handover date.

IDC Construct’s portfolio of large-format industrial facilities — including the 30,000 sqm Hyundai Rotem Manufacturing Facility (two consecutive Master Builders QLD Wide Bay Burnett Housing & Construction Awards), Australia’s largest freeze-dried produce facility, and the Moonaboola dual-tenant manufacturing development — directly matched the depot’s delivery profile.

Adding to a Maryborough industrial portfolio

The Richers Transport depot continues IDC Construct’s deepening footprint in Maryborough industrial construction, alongside the Hyundai Rotem Manufacturing Facility supporting the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program, and the ESI Iron Flow Battery Facility — Australia’s first grid-scale iron flow battery manufacturing plant, announced by Deputy Premier Cameron Dick MP.
